Part 2 (Do not have to have taken Part 1.)
This is a hands on class. Each week we do an experiment or discovery project. We talk about what we are going to be doing to discover if there are any fun words like “super saturated solution” or “emulsification.” We make predictions and then get to our experiment.
Semester Activities:
* Some winter experiments (hoping for snow!!!)
* Food science experiments
* Weather related experiments
* Nature walks around our school looking for insects and signs of spring…
* Ant farm to take home. We will set if up in class and talk about what to do at home.
* We will learn about ants and do some fun activities about ants.
* The last day we will celebrate our 4th graders and decide in class on a year end project.
Materials Provided:
Ant Farm
Pocket Microscope
Insect kit for our nature walks
When the semester is over, you can take all the items home. The ant farm will go home after we assemble it.
Materials Needed:
Pencil box/case, pencils, pencil sharpener, scissors, colored pencils, and glue stick.
