Students will work in pairs being led to dissect specimens throughout the semester. The specimens include a fetal pig, frog, perch, crayfish, earthworm, clam, starfish, grasshopper, and a Grantia (sponge). The first class will review laboratory safety. It is imperative for students to practice laboratory safety as scalpels and sharp pins will be used weekly.
Materials Included: A dissection kit for each pair of students and nitrile gloves are included in the class price.
Materials Needed for this Course:
- A mature attitude with respect for the class and the specimens.
- Safety glasses (not needed for those with eye glasses)
