Folksongs and Flutophones (4th-6th Grade) (1/2 Credit) – 1 Semester Course, 12 Weeks

With upper elementary students, we will learn a more advanced repertoire of folksongs and circle, longways, and square dances. Harmonize with chords, ostinatos, rounds, and canons. Read and write music with solfège, note names, rhythm syllables, stick and staff notation. As we develop our singing and movement skills, we can play some of our new repertoire on a variety of classroom instruments and that pre-band classic, the flutophone!

Spring semester will contain new content than the Fall semester.  New and returning students are welcome.

Homework:  Optional listening

Cost covers the full semester
