This class will cover the basics of machine sewing, covering a new technique each week, followed by homework to complete before the next class. Each student will need access to a sewing machine to use at home. We will have a couple machines in class for demonstration and practicing each technique, but the students will need to follow through with their projects on their own time at home. We will have a fun time learning, creating, and sharing our projects with each other!
Some of the techniques we will cover include:
Threading the machine and basic understanding of the machine parts
Sewing with different stitches, turning corners, backstitch
Sewing on pre-marked patterns (machine control)
Cutting fabric and seam allowance
Instruction and guidance for 3-5 projects TBD
Curriculum and supplies will be needed…TBD in coming weeks. This class will be taught by Kyndra Reed.
