Come join the fun in this hands-on class where fairy tales, fables, and saint stories come alive!
Each week we will sit together and enjoy a short, age-appropriate story read aloud with excitement and expression. You’ll hear classic tales like “Cinderella,” “Rapunzel”, and “Arabian Nights” or epic stories like “Saint George and the Dragon. After listening to the story, it’s time for the best part — making a simple, delightful craft that goes right along with what we just heard!
We might create our own flying dragon, make a sparkling crown for a princess, design a shield of a brave knight , or paint a scene from the tale. Every craft is easy, fun, and designed so every child can feel proud of what they create.
Students are expected to listen respectfully during story time and to try their best on the craft with a happy heart and lots of grace — messy hands and silly ideas are welcome! There is no “perfect” — just joyful creating and imagination.
Materials: Students should bring their own favorite coloring supplies (crayons, markers, or colored pencils) and a pencil. Everything else — construction paper, glue, scissors, stickers, yarn, pom-poms, and all the special craft goodies — will be provided by the teacher.
This class helps young children practice listening, grow their imagination, learn lessons from stories, and build confidence through simple, successful art projects — all in a kind and encouraging environment.
