COACH Rockwall Email Newsletter Editor (Parent Service Hour)

As the COACH Rockwall Newsletter Editor, you will play a crucial role in creating engaging and informative newsletters to keep our community members updated on the latest events, activities, and announcements. Your dedication to crafting compelling content and coordinating with various teams will help foster effective communication and community engagement within COACH Rockwall.

Responsibilities:

1. Newsletter Creation: Utilize MailChimp, an email marketing platform, to design and create weekly newsletters. Incorporate visually appealing layouts, relevant images, and engaging content to capture the attention of our readers.
2. Content Coordination: Collaborate with the Online Calendar Coordinator to gather information about upcoming events and activities. Coordinate with COACH Directors, teachers, and clubs to gather event details, announcements, and articles to include in the newsletter.
3. Editing and Proofreading: Ensure the accuracy, clarity, and professionalism of all newsletter content. Edit and proofread articles, announcements, and event descriptions to maintain a consistent and high-quality standard.
4. Visual Enhancement: Work with the Online Calendar Coordinator to gather featured event images from COACH Canva account or other sources. Create visually appealing featured images for each event to be included in the newsletter.
5. Event Promotion: Highlight upcoming events, workshops, and important dates in the newsletter. Collaborate with COACH Directors, teachers, and clubs to gather event information, descriptions, and registration details.
6. Collaboration and Communication: Maintain open communication with the COACH Directors, teachers, and clubs to gather timely information and ensure accurate representation of events and activities in the newsletter. Collaborate with other volunteers and teams to align newsletter content with overall COACH Rockwall objectives.
7. Subscriber Management: Manage the newsletter subscriber list, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information. Assist in growing the subscriber base by encouraging COACH members to subscribe to the newsletter.
8. Analytics and Feedback: Monitor newsletter analytics, such as open rates and click-through rates, to evaluate the effectiveness of content and design. Gather feedback from readers to improve future newsletters and cater to their interests and needs.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Proficiency in using MailChimp or similar email marketing platforms
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong attention to detail and ability to proofread and edit content
• Creative mindset with a keen eye for visual design and layout
• Collaborative and proactive approach to working with various teams and stakeholders
• Organizational skills to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize tasks
• Familiarity with COACH Rockwall programs, events, and clubs is a plus
