HS CHEMISTRY Lecture (9th-12th Grade) – BJU Press Chemistry, 4th edition (Part 2 of 2)(1 Credit) – 2 Semester Course – 24 Weeks
***This is a 2-hour Course. We will meet from 9am-11am***
- 9am – Lecture
- 10am – Lab
Required** You must have finished Part 1 of Chemistry at COACH Rockwall in the Fall Semester to sign-up for this class.
Prerequisites: Algebra 1.
BJU Press Chemistry (4th edition) focuses on the composition and structure of atoms. Students will learn about chemical structures, bonding, the names of substances and their formulas, and chemical equations.
Chemistry, 4th ed., gives students the tools to build an understanding of atomic structure, chemical composition, and chemical reactions. Throughout the course, students will put these tools to work in different fields of chemistry in ways that can show them the impact that chemistry can have to help people and to wisely use God’s world to glorify Him. This edition features content about semiconductors and nuclear chemistry as well as additional biblical worldview-shaping sections that help students to think through common debates among scientists. It provides a solid foundation in chemical sciences and fosters an understanding of the scientific method and its application to chemical inquiry through:
- Lectures
- Reading
- Quizzes
- Labs
- Study Guides
- Tests
