This class will be all hands on. We will learn science concepts as we explore and experiment. Because it is multi-ages, the class will not repeat itself unless there are all new students. Each semester we will dive into new topics and explore them further through experiments, videos, projects, or nature walks.
This fall, Laurie Dragon and Sarah Mazur will work together to be sure that their classes offer different topics, since their class ages overlap by two grades. That way your budding scientist can take both classes if they really enjoy the sciences.
Some things that we will be doing this semester; we will be creating a terrarium, doing kitchen science (edible science fun), a gemstone dig, making crystals, and we will end our semester with owls and their food chain (dissecting owl pellets). Our fun final project will be about owls.
