CORE: HOMEWORK
This college-preparatory, laboratory-based biology course which offers high school students a rigorous introduction to the general study of biology.
It will be mandatory for students to read assigned work and watch the videos in order to be prepared for class. In class we will have hands on activities and games to help students with the vast amount of memory work a biology course requires. There are a total of 38 experiments including dissections that will require reading the lab, viewing all related videos, and prepping their lab notebook BEFORE class in order to participate in the lab work. It is imperative to complete these in order to know what to do in class. I will help them learn
to take notes and teach them how to study, but they MUST be willing to do the work and come prepared. We will do many in-class and out of class activities and projects for deeper learning. I encourage drawing, note taking, and questions! It will be hard work on a high school level (students should put in at least 45 min to an hour a day) but I plan to inject fun into it as we go.
Supplies included! We will be using Berean Builders Discovering Design through Biology. All texts, lab notebooks, note sheets, supplies, and workbooks will be provided.
