MATH: THINKWELL (1 Credit) – 2 Semester Course, 24 Weeks
This is the online course purchased separately.
Prealgebra (8th Grade Math) Online Course
As you (hopefully) know by now, Thinkwell is an online math curriculum. It is divided into Chapters (1, 2, 3, etc.), Subchapters (1.1, 1.2, 2.1, 2.3, etc.), and Topics (1.1.1, 1.1.2, 1.1.3, etc.). On Canvas (the class management platform Thinkwell uses), the course is also divided into Modules, but those module divisions will not have meaning for this class.
For each topic, there are short videos to watch and Interactive Practice online problems to answer. After a few topics, there is a Review Worksheet for that subchapter, and then a quiz. At the end of the chapter, there are a practice test and a test. All of these items are assigned below. In addition to these, Thinkwell offers topic worksheets and extra interactive practice problems for each topic. You are welcome to use these for extra practice if you need it, but they are not required nor assigned.
Your assignments are listed below. There are typically 5 or 6 assignments per week. Each assignment has a due date scheduled on a Friday, Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday. Since there are at least 5 assignments per week, and only 4 days to use for due dates, there will always be two assignments for Monday.  This does NOT mean that you have to do both of them on Monday…many students choose to do one over the weekend and one on Monday. Also, the due dates are there to help you schedule your week, but you can spread the work through your week as you need to, based on your other commitments. Are you in Speech and Debate all day on Tuesday? Or you have Football practice on Mondays and Wednesdays? Or you work all day on Tuesdays and Fridays? No problem! You can double up on the other days, and as long as the work for the week is done by class on Thursday.
