This is Part 2. Recommended to have take Part 1, but not necessary.
We will continue to learn about child development, skills, and baby-sitting tips while also having hands on experience. We will either meet in the Infant/Toddler room or in another classroom for the first 25-30 minutes and then split into 3 smaller groups to go into classrooms with infants up to 3rd grade to work with the students and observe how the teachers handle situations.
We will observe only in classes the first 3 weeks to get a feel for how the teachers manage their class and get to know the children. The remainder of the semester you will interact and work with the kids during their class time.
The last three weeks you will prepare an activity to do with the children.
There will be some reading each week, but nothing cumbersome.
Materials Included: The book, “What to Expect, baby-sitters handbook.”
