HS Hall Monitor (Parent Service Hour)

As a high school hall monitor, your primary responsibility is to ensure the safety and security of students and staff within the school premises. Your duties as an adult at COACH may include the following:

Assist with finding Subs for Absences.

Supervising Hallways: You will be responsible for monitoring the hallways during class transitions, ensuring that students move in an orderly manner and adhere to school rules. This involves maintaining a visible presence, addressing any disruptive behavior, and redirecting students to their classrooms.

Enforcing School Policies: You will enforce school policies related to behavior and other rules. This includes reminding students of the expectations, intervening in any inappropriate conduct, and reporting any violations to the appropriate school authorities.

Assisting with Student Movement: You may help with the smooth flow of students during arrival and dismissal times, ensuring that they enter and exit the school building safely. This may involve coordinating with other staff members, managing traffic or bus queues, and guiding students to designated areas.

Monitoring Restricted Areas: You will keep a watchful eye on restricted areas, such as staff rooms, offices, or sensitive areas of the school, to prevent unauthorized access and maintain a secure environment.

Responding to Incidents: In the event of an emergency or any security-related incident, you will be responsible for promptly alerting the appropriate authorities, such as school administrators or security personnel, and following established protocols to ensure the safety and well-being of everyone on the premises.

Building Positive Relationships: As a hall monitor, you will interact with students, staff, and visitors in a friendly and professional manner. Building positive relationships with students can contribute to a respectful and cooperative school climate.
