“This class is designed for new want to be child care providers/AKA “Babysitters” as well as teens who have been babysitting to up their game. We will cover topics from entertainment to behavior.
Week 7 is asterisked, as we will be talking about when kids are over the age of 5 and need help or supervision for a shower or toileting issue.
I will first brainstorm with them about what they may already know to see where they are at. I have been a trainer not only in child care settings, but at Child Care Conferences. I will use the words “”privates or private parts,”” I will only use bowel movement, as it is the word used in child care to report incidents or diapering.
They will learn “pass gas” is the most professional word. They will also learn how to avoid saying inappropriate things like “”Eww, that is gross,”” or “”You stink.”” Things like that that have actually been said in my presence by grown adults in a childcare setting.
There’s always a professional way to say things. It is my belief that if they are going to care for other humans, they need to know what is appropriate and what is not. It will be done in a fun and loving way, but wanted everyone to have a heads up.
Cost: $35 (Includes a bag to carry to a job, a file box to store things in to rotate out into their bag, a emergency board to carry in their bags, homemade games or activities, and a folder/booklet of all the handouts from the class. Great even if caring only for siblings – makes them seem professional!)”
