ELECTIVE
This is the afternoon session of Resin Art. Class will start at 12:45pm.
This class will be for both NEW students as well as more advanced students who took Resin Art in the Spring. For those who took it in the Spring, please see special notes for you below.
This will be a fun & creative introduction to resin art focusing on small projects with a new project almost every week. Choose from license plate frames for cars, keychains, dominoes, coasters, jewelry, bowls, mobile phone stands, pens, wall art & MUCH more!
This class is for mature 9-12th grade students who can take direction very well! We will be working with chemicals, torches, flammable materials & measurements & techniques need to be very precise. We will need to wear some PPE during classes when handling resin. Not following instructions can result in injury & damage to CCA property! Therefore, before students can start creating projects they MUST take & pass a quiz with an 80% or higher score. No pass, no pour! Please seriously evaluate if your student is ready for this class before signing them up.
Students will be responsible for bringing their molds & other supplies to class each week & turning in their molds CLEAN, residue free, intact & in usable condition.
Class fees will cover the molds to use while in class, resin, pigments, ink, glitter, foils, gloves, most mixing equipment & things of that nature. The first day of class, students will be given a list of supplies that they will need, but to give you an idea, they will need a perfectly flat, portable work surface such as a baking tray that is 13×20 or slightly larger, a large container that it will fit in, a silicone mat & silicone mixing cups. Again, the complete list will be provided.
You are welcome to purchase your own things for SMALL custom projects to be done in class or to add to what we are already doing. As an example, you choose to make a tray & want it to light up, so you bring an LED light kit or you want to make a wall art piece, but don’t like the available molds, you can bring your own mold & make it in class.
ADVANCED STUDENTS: I will have special project assignments for you this semester. You will not be restricted to only using molds & we will be getting super creative! I will give you a list of special projects on the first day of school…it’s going to be fun!
I look forward to all the fun & creativity we will be having in class this semester!
