Have you ever dreamed of starting your own business? In this hands-on, semester-long course, students will learn exactly what it takes to turn an idea into a successful venture. From forming an LLC to branding and marketing, this class covers the real-world skills every entrepreneur needs.
This course is about how to start a business and you can continue to Entr. 2 to learn how to run your business.
What You’ll Learn:
- All students will be forming their own MOCK or REAL Company throughout the class
- Key business terminology
- How to obtain DBAs, LLCs, S-Corps, etc.
- Brief information on business taxes
- Good marketing VS Bad marketing
- Leadership skills
- Problem solving skills
- How to start a business
- How to make a business plan
- How to design a logo
- How to design marketing materials (such as banners, flyers, etc.)
- How to make a quality commercial
- How to build a landing page (single website page)
- All students will be given 50 business cards that they design in class
There will be extra credit opportunities: Open Book Quizzes with unlimited tries. There will be one Final Exam at the end of the semester. The course will culminate in a final showcase, where all students will present their company to the class and the student with the most votes wins an award. Each student will also have the opportunity to present their business to peers and teachers at the Fall Fest if they would like.
By the end of the course, students will walk away with practical business knowledge, leadership experience, and the confidence to take their ideas to the next level.
