Welcome to C.O.A.C.H. Theater!

CHT PERFORMING ARTS CENTER

Our singers explore a variety of musical styles while developing technique, harmony, and stage presence. Beyond performance skills, COACH Singers use their voices to uplift, encourage, and celebrate God’s gifts through music.

COACH Dancers tell stories through movement, learning a variety of dance styles while growing in strength, grace, and confidence. Dance becomes a way to express creativity, inspire audiences, and honor God in motion.

From musicals to plays, COACH Theater Productions give students hands-on experience in acting, directing, tech and stagecraft. Each production builds teamwork, nurtures creativity, and provides a platform for students to shine in a faith-centered, homeschool environment.

CHT Mission

Our mission is to build up, develop, and disciple Christian homeschool students through drama, production, and stagecraft—forming character through responsibility, collaboration, and artistic expression rooted in Biblical truth. At the heart of C.O.A.C.H. Theater is a central focus on Christ Jesus and the Gospel, intentionally integrating Biblical principles with the performing arts.

We partner with parents in cultivating performers who grow in Character, creativity, discipline, and faith. We believe that theater is a powerful tool for shaping leadership, communication, teamwork, perseverance, and integrity—qualities that prepare young men and women to step confidently into God’s calling for their lives.

CHT Vision

C.O.A.C.H. Theater exists to raise up Christian artists who boldly reflect Christ, create with integrity, and share the Gospel through storytelling and performance.

Vision Goals:

  • Christ-Centered Culture: Build a Christ-honoring environment where every rehearsal, performance, and relationship reflects the Gospel.
  • Performer Discipleship: Equip young performers to glorify God in their craft, grow spiritually, and model Christlike Character both on and off stage.
  • Widespread Reach: Begin in North Texas with a vision to expand C.O.A.C.H. Theater programs to other regions, creating a network of Gospel-focused homeschool theater communities.
  • Strategic Partnerships: Collaborate with churches, Christian colleges, and like-minded arts organizations to strengthen artistic and spiritual growth.
  • Creative Opportunities: Offer a wide variety of theater experiences—musicals, plays, technical design, stagecraft—based on community interest and talent.
  • Scholarship Pathways: Connect students with Christian colleges and theater programs that value both artistic skill and faith.

CHT Dallas Expectations

Participation in C.O.A.C.H. Theater is both a privilege and a responsibility. Because we represent Christ in our productions, rehearsals, and public performances, all students, parents, and volunteers are expected to model Christlike behavior at all times.

Expectations include:

  • Treating directors, castmates, crew, and parents with respect.
  • Demonstrating humility, teamwork, and encouragement.
  • Striving for excellence in preparation and performance.
  • Abstaining from gossip, crude language, or inappropriate behavior.
  • Maintaining a teachable spirit and willingness to follow direction.

Students who consistently disregard these expectations may lose roles, responsibilities, or even participation privileges.

Commitment

C.O.A.C.H. Theater productions require dedication and reliability. When students audition and accept roles, they are committing to the rehearsal and performance schedule.

  • Attendance at rehearsals is expected unless excused in advance for illness or family emergency.
  • Directors must be notified promptly of any unavoidable conflicts.
  • Repeated absences or tardiness may result in recasting or reassignment.
  • Parents are expected to support rehearsals and performances by ensuring their student arrives on time, prepared, and ready to contribute.

Parent Partnership

C.O.A.C.H. Theater is a parent-supported ministry. Success depends on parents actively serving alongside students.

  • Parents may be asked to assist with costuming, set construction, props, front-of-house, fundraising, and backstage support.
  • At least one parent from each family is expected to serve in some capacity in each production.
  • Parents are also encouraged to model Christlike encouragement, grace, and cooperation for students.

Casting & Production Roles

Casting in C.O.A.C.H. Theater is prayerfully considered and based on:

  • Audition performance (skill, preparation, teachability)
  • Character fit for the role
  • Faithfulness to past commitments
  • Willingness to serve where needed

Not every student will receive a lead role, but every participant is vital to the production. Supporting roles, ensemble, crew, and technical teams are equally essential in telling the story and glorifying God through theater.
