Get ready to dance, have fun, and express yourself!
In this class, we’ll focus on jazz and lyrical dance, blending high-energy jazz moves with the graceful, flowing style of lyrical. We’ll also have fun incorporating streamers and flags into our routines, adding color and excitement to our choreography. Each week, we’ll work on building strength, flexibility, coordination, and confidence—all while learning new moves in a supportive, encouraging environment.
Our dancers will have the chance to perform alongside our older class in a community dance performance each semester, as well as at Fall Fest and/or Spring Fest. If you can’t make it to a community performance, just let me know ahead of time—we’ll adjust choreography so you can
still shine at Fall Fest and/or Spring Fest!
What to wear: Comfortable clothes that let you move freely and black jazz shoes for practice and performances. We may also have special performance attire for the dance ensemble (TBD).
Fall Semester Special Practices:
● Friday, September 10th, 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm, McKinney
● Friday, November 20th, 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm, McKinney
Our fall performance will tentatively take place at the McKinney Farmers Market on either Saturday, November 21st, or Saturday, December 5th.
By the end of the class, you’ll have a better understanding of dance terms, improved posture and coordination, stronger teamwork skills, and most importantly—lots of fun moving to the music with jazz, lyrical, streamers, and flags!
Move in His light and love, letting every step glorify Him!
