This high school art course is designed to spark creativity and build confidence through hands-on exploration of a wide variety of artistic mediums. Throughout the semester, students will have the opportunity to engage in different “crafty” art forms—such as resin art, abstract painting, collage, printmaking, fiber arts, sculpture, mixed media and student inspired projects—gaining exposure to different art techniques. This class is designed to be heavily influenced based upon student interest.
Rather than focusing on one specialty, this class emphasizes experimentation, problem-solving, and personal expression. Students will learn foundational art concepts, while also developing practical skills unique to each medium. Projects are designed to be engaging and approachable, encouraging students of all skill levels to take creative risks and discover new interests.
