WHAT WE BELIEVE

  • Salvation

      1. We believe that everyone is born sinful and separated from God.
      2. God draws us to Him through the Holy Spirit.
      3. The cost of sin is death. Jesus took our place.
      4. Salvation from sin is a free gift from God.
      5. It is by grace alone through faith in the finished work of Christ Jesus on the cross and not of any human works.
      6. If you declare Jesus as Lord and believe in His substitutionary death and resurrection, you are saved.

  • The Bible

    1. We believe the Bible (the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments) is the only book to be God breathed as the verbally inspired Word of God.
    2. No other manuscript, books, or writings  is equal to or superior to The Bible.
    3. It is the final authority for faith and living, and is inerrant in the original manuscripts, infallible, and to be interpreted in their original context.

  • God The Father: YAHWEH

    1. We believe in the one eternal God, Yahweh, Creator and Ruler of all things, revealed in Three Persons: The Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
    2. We believe the Father is the first person of the Trinity, the only true God.
    3. He directs all things for His purpose and glory.
    4. He has created humanity to bring Him honor and glory.
    5. The Father is transcendent, actively involved in creation, and offers a personal relationship through Christ Jesus.

  • God The Son: Jesus

    1. We believe Jesus Christ is the only Son of God. Being fully God and fully man.
    2. He is the 2nd person in the Trinity.
    3. Conceived through the power of God, Jesus took on flesh and was born of the virgin Mary.
    4. He lived a sinless human life, and offered himself as the perfect and complete sacrifice for the sins of all people by dying on a cross.
    5. He physically rose from the dead on the third day then ascended to God’s throne where he presently intercedes for us at the right hand of the Father.
    6. One day he will physically return.

  • God The Holy Spirit

    1. We believe the Holy Spirit is the third person in the Trinity. As the living Holy Spirit, He is the Agent of conviction, the Giver of new life, the One who fills up and guides every believer and the Church to accomplish the work of God, and the One who seals all believers until the day of redemption.

  • Marriage

    1. We believe that God wonderfully and immutably created each person as a biological male or biological female, and as His creations, we should live according to the gender God assigns. These two genders are distinct and complimentary by God’s design.
    2. We believe marriage is only between one man and one woman for life. God intends sexual intimacy to only be between a husband and wife.

BIBLICAL SOURCES: Genesis 2:18-25; Ephesians 5:21-33; 1 Corinthians 6:18; 7:2-5; Hebrews 13:4; Matthew 15:18-20; 1 Corinthians 6:9-10

  • Church & Community

  • Humanity

    1. We believe we are all sinners in need of His salvation.
    2. We believe humanity is equal, regardless of race, nationality or ethnic origin, since we are all created in the image of God. Therefore, ALL human life is to be valued and protected including pre-born babies, the elderly, the physically or mentally challenged and every stage from conception to natural death.
    3. We believe that each person is created by God from conception as male or female and the gender is unchangeable. These two genders are distinct and complimentary by God’s design.

  • Denominational Differences

      1. COACH is not associated with any particular denomination, but instead holds what we call an “Overall Christian Position”. What this means is that COACH holds to fundamentally conservative Christian Faith theology, as reflected in the Scriptures, and leaves denominational differences to be determined in the home and the family’s church.

  • Examples of denominational differences may include:
      1. Church government-authority
      2. Time and mode of baptism
      3. Security of the believer
      4. Timing of future events
      5. Second work of grace-baptism of the Holy Spirit
      6. Sinless perfection
      7. Gifts of the Spirit-tongues, interpretation of tongues, healing, miracle working, discerning of spirits

However, this does not mean COACH avoids these topics with older students.  All views discussed must be backed by corresponding Scriptures, and must leave the final judgment to the student and family.
